The Knot Los Angeles Workshop 2017 —Recap & Photos!

We headed to Los Angeles for our full day workshop and it was an unforgettable day.  The Jeremy West Hollywood played host and their unique interior space was the perfect look for the day! We teamed up with the lovely planner Fran of Events By Fran, who was inspired by citrus tropical designs for our event. The elements throughout the day were so bright and fresh (Fran nailed it)! We kicked off the workshop with a delicious breakfast think; sliced seasonal winter citrus, detox lemon cucumber juice, and yummy quiche. The day was intimate and filled with tons of learning, networking, and laughs.

Fran and the Events By Fran team collaborated with our dear friend, Kaleigh of Méldeen to incorporate the citrus inspired look into the event design and stationery. The place settings were one of our favorite Insta-worthy moments from the day. The black and white hand tied ribbon paired with the bright yellow pattern linen (Nuage Designs) created the perfect pop of color. Some other elements that were eye catching included the hedge wall on the stage, the vibrant floral décor (Peonies and Petals), and the balloon arch over the dessert table featuring the cutest treats (IntriCakes). Check out more of the colorful details from the workshop captured by the talented Lumière Imagery!

The overall theme for our Los Angeles Workshop was “Every day is a fresh start!” and we made sure all attendees got to walk away with a new headshot thanks to Villa Visuals to refresh their profile photo. We also offered 1:1 Storefront Strategy Sessions with our Account Strategists and Portfolio Reviews with our Real Weddings Editor. We especially love 1:1 sessions because it is a great opportunity for wedding pros to ask personalized questions about their businesses.

We took a nice break for some good eats and got to enjoy a delicious meal including an array of salads, rosemary chicken, and mini lemon cheesecake (The Jeremy West Hollywood).  A few other things we loved during lunch included the stunning ghost charger plates (Town & Country Event Rentals) topped with the “Let’s Eat! “menus (Méldeen). Let’s not forget about how much fun we had chatting with so many amazing local wedding pros during lunch!

After lunch we geared up for some more education. Attendees got the chance to learn from some pretty talented industry experts. Local pros including Heather Balliet (Amorology), Troy Balliet (Amorology & Back Up Backdrops), Matt Gencarella (byDesign Films), Natalie Good (A Good Affair Wedding & Event Production), Aimee and Troy Grover (The Grovers Photography), Lindsay Longacre (LVL Weddings & Events), Braja Mandala (Braja Mandala Photography), and Carrie McGuire (Carrie McGuire Photography). We also got to learn from Kristin Banta of Kristin Banta Events (Event Design to Inception), Jesi Haack of Jesi Haack Design (Brand Yo’ Self), and Jove Meyer of Jove Meyer Events (LGBT Wedding Planning). We walked away with so many tips for the taking thanks to each pro that shared real life examples.

We also got to chat with couples about their wedding planning process. It was so insightful to hear first hand about their planning journey. Also it was our largest Real Couples Panel to date (woohoo)!

After a full day of learning, we got to enjoy some quality party time with friends over cocktails because “sometimes you wine; sometimes you booze”—if you couldn’t tell we loved the fun bar signage (Méldeen).  DJ Krieger nailed it with the music choices throughout the cocktail party (We wanted to dance all night). The inspiration was contagious throughout the day and we had so much fun with in Los Angeles. We can’t wait to visit again soon!
