We headed to The Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington DC for our fourth workshop of 2017. It couldn’t have been a more perfect day spent with so many new and old friends.
Danielle of Magnolia Bluebird Design & Events and Kaleigh of Méldeen collaborated to incorporate the most beautiful textures, colors and patterns into the decor. Together Danielle and Kaleigh created so many Instagram worthy details, like the marble program boxes included in the place settings and the Dorothy Draper inspired luncheon. Some other details we couldn’t get enough of were the funky furniture and cherry blossom arragements on stage (EDGE Floral Event Designers), the laser-cut stage backdrop (Fabrication Events) and the tropical floral arrangements during lunch (EDGE Floral Event Designers) —just to name a few. Attendees were able to take advantage of four free one-on-one sessions during the day: portfolio reviews, a headshot bar, social media consultations and storefront strategy sessions. Pros are able to ask our experts personalized questions on how to improve their business and win more couples. Engaged couples from the Washington DC area joined our Real Couples Panel to provide insights on their planning process. Stephanie Cain moderated a fun conversation between the couples, giving vendors the inside scoop on all things wedding planning.
The Dorothy Draper inspired lunch by Magnolia Bluebird Design & Events was the definition of vibrant- and the use of colors brought the room to life. The patterned linens and unique place settings from Select Event Group were a total wow-factor. And we bet you’ve never seen this lunch served like this before. The totally creative stacked three-course meal served by the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center was on point (and delicious)!
We walked away with so many good tips from the inspiring guest speakers. Local pros including Abby Jiu of Abby Jiu Photography, Elise Kolle of Pinkboxe Weddings & Events, Julie Savage of Strawberry Milk Events and Holly Chapple of Holly Heider Chapple Flowers provided our attendees with great advice. We also got to hear from Bryan Rafanelli of Rafanelli Events (The Balancing Act), Ceci Johnson of Ceci New York (Building Your Brand), Jove Meyers of Jove Meyer Events (LGBTQ Couples) and Sandy Yi-Davis of Chic Weddings & Events .
We work hard and play hard in the wedding industry! After a full day of learning, guests got the chance to mingle during cocktail hour.
