Millennials (aka, your future customers) are looking for a way to connect with you well before they pick up the phone or reach out to you. They’re going to stalk you all over the place — from your Instagram profile to your Facebook page and, yes, even your website. Your “About” page is your big chance to create a personal connection with couples. Not so sure your page is doing all that? Let these wedding business About pages inspire you.
1. Laura Dee Photography
Why It’s Great: Laura De Carlo puts it all out there. She’s authentic, quirky and fun. Her seemingly random series of personality traits, likes and dislikes (“Allergic to shellfish, Jiu-jitsu white belt for life, Candy crusher”) underlines and helps to sell her cool photography brand. Using the same tone, word choice and voice, she dedicates the second half of her About page to describing her work as a photographer.
Make It Yours: Use your words and don’t be afraid to tell your potential clients what it is that you’re like personally. You don’t have to list out everything. But if you love to run, you’re passionate about organic food or you’re just a total Netflix documentary junkie, consider that part of your sell.

Why It’s Great: Everything — from the colorful backdrop to her outfit and smile — says that Nikki is a fun, personable videographer who totally gets the young, hip millennials couple. Instead of bragging about herself, she dedicates the first paragraph to painting a picture of what her couples are like (“You aren’t hell-bent on following the “wedding rules.”). She takes the next paragraph to chat about herself in the same conversational tone, careful to put the couple first (“I create wedding stories focused on YOU and how you uniquely shine on your wedding day.”)
Make It Yours: Instead of referring to “your couples” and what “they” want, try crafting your copy in a way that speaks to the prospective couple (“you”).

3. Urban Palate
Why It’s Great: The photo at the top of their About page is great. Why? It immediately establishes a few crucial tidbits about the Urban Palate team: they’re friendly (they’re friendly and casual – not posed or stiff), they’re approachable (their clothes are nice but not overly styled or done), and they’re totally local (the LA skyline in the background).
Make It Yours: If you don’t have a photo of your team on your About Us, get to it. Future couples want to see the people behind the work and they want to be able to identify with those people. If you do have a photo, ask yourself: what is our team communicating in this photo?

4. LOHO Bride
Why It’s Great: The photo at the top of the About page (of the owner sifting through dresses in her salon) establishes environment — a paramount goal for bridal salons looking to attract brides and their friends. The letter from Christy and the team at the bottom communicates their philosophy and differentiates them from other bridal salons without overtly saying it (a way of creating trust and underlining their brand).
Make It Yours: Think about the one to three takeaways you want to communicate to prospective couples and infuse that into your page — be it through a photo, a letter, or even a poem!

5. Gather Events
Why It’s Great: The Instagram-inspired square images that span her website captioned with “We Are The Lucky Ones…” is pretty genius. With those five little words, Sarah and her team have effectively expressed gratitude for their clients, which in turn communicates passion for what she and her team does. Click over to her About page and you’ll find a letter to couples considering hiring her, penned with a signature-style font and her first name (nothing too stuffy or unapproachable).
Make It Yours: Find other ways to say you’re passionate about what you do without actually saying it. It can be challenging to do but so much more powerful if you’re able to push past the generic “we’re so passionate” phrase and find an alternative way to say or show the sentiment.
