Holiday Cocktails To Try (Like Right Now)

With all the cocktail parties, dinners and shindigs, the festivities seem a little endless. The solution?  To out-cocktail the rest of course! Here, some of the best mixologists and bartenders and their top picks for this season…

Cocktail To Try: The Chandon Merry Whatever!

There are literally two ingredients in this pretty little coup glass. No need to shake either. Just top with a garnish of your choice (the prettier the better!) and a fun festive stirrer.

The Chandon Merry Whatever!

  •  3 oz Chandon Brut (use the limited edition holiday bottle for extra sparkle!)
  • 1 oz Elderflower Liqueur
  • Twist of Lemon or Mint, or even Thyme, for a bit more of a holiday feel
  • Top liqueur with Chandon

Cocktail To Try: Yule Mule

Stop by the Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel  during the holidays and you’ll find lots of fun holiday-themed cocktails to sip by the pool while watching classic holiday movies.

Yule Mule

  • 1 oz of Tito’s Vodka
  • Ginger beer
  • Lime juice
  • Dash of cranberry juice
  • Fresh cranberries as garnish

Cocktail To Try: Santa’s Little Helper

Another one from Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel with Bacardi and Bulleit:

Santa’s Little Helper

  • 1 oz Bulleit Rye Whiskey
  • 1 oz Bacardi rum
  • Eggnog / Ice
  • Garnish with a cinnamon stick

Cocktail To Try: Fun Grandma’s Hot Cocoa

Also from Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel, it’s all about the Patron (and a chocolate chip cookie!):

Fun Grandma’s Hot Cocoa

  • 1 oz Patron Tequila
  • 1 oz Patron XO Cafe
  • Abuelita Hot Chocolate
  • Whipped cream
  • Garnish with chocolate chip cookie

Cocktail To Try: Naughty or Nice

This last one is served on-property at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas was created by mixologist Mariena Mercer. It combines aged rum, tart cherry liqueur, almond and hot chocolate for a very boozy version of the hot chocolate classic!

Naughty or Nice

  • 1 oz Pusser’s Rum
  • 1 oz Leopold Cherry
  • ½ oz Orgeat Almond Syrup
  • Top with Hot Chocolate
  • Combine all ingredients in a mug. Top with whipped cream and garnish with cherries.
