With over 100 million daily active users, Snapchat is quickly taking the social media world by storm. Like any other growing social media platform, it can be a little hard to figure out where to get started, so we’re here to help you out!

1. Think outside the box. If you take a look at stories on Snapchat, you’ll notice a lot of them have similar content. Stand our from everyone else by bringing a variety of content that your users will either find entertaining or helpful.

2. Create your own KPI’s. Right now, there are no ways to get any analytics or data on your Snapchat account, so you need to take matters into your own hands. To calculate Views Per Snap (VPS), record the number of views for your Snapchat stories each day and record them in a spreadsheet. Along with VPS, make sure to track the number of screenshots (this shows that viewers found whatever you posted valuable or entertaining!).

3. Make sure users anticipate important messages. If you’re delivering an important message to viewers on Snapchat, for example, sharing a discount code you’d like them to use, asking them to screenshot it can be an excellent way to drive action. Before you announce something, make sure to prompt viewers by saying “screenshot the next snap”. This way they know there is something to look for, and won’t miss it!

4. Use other social media profiles to promote your Snapchat account. A great way to build your Snapchat audience is by promoting your account on your other social profiles. Take some of your best-performing Snapchat pictures/videos and promote them on your other social media platforms along with your Snapchat handle.
