Strategy 1: Be the industry expert. Be knowledgeable…be an expert – know what’s going on in the industry and what wedding trends are hot right now. When couples visit you, impress them with your keen knowledge of the current trends.
Strategy 2: Know your customer. Right now your main customers are millennials, the biggest and most complex generation to date. Did you know that millennials make up 86 million of the US population? To be successful you need to keep up with their needs, styles, and more.
Strategy 3: Fish where the fish are. Today’s couples seek inspiration across a wide range of platforms from websites, magazines and books, to apps on her mobile phone. Its important to make sure that you have a presence where today’s millennial couples are doing their research and discovery.
Strategy 4: Optimize your website. 84% of millennials are influenced by wedding professionals’ websites. Be sure to update your site with the latest trends and RW photos. Also, did you know that the “About Me” section is one of the most important pages on your website? It’s one of the first places couples go when they visit a website. This is where you share your WHY with them and connect with them.
Strategy 5: Network for business referrals. Business networking is key to expanding your knowledge, learning from the success of others, attaining new clients and telling others about your business. Start by checking out our online Facebook Group to get connected with other businesses in this market. Strategy 6: Manage your reputation for newlywed referrals. 85% of consumers say that they read online reviews to determine whether a business is credible, and are more likely to purchase when they can find reviews online vs. when they can’t. Use reviews to grow your business, and get credit for positive word of mouth!
Strategy 7: Measure and optimize. Whether you are using The Knot’s My Account dashboard, Google Analytics or some other analytics platform – measuring your progress and optimizing your efforts is extremely important in knowing if you are effectively engaging your customers.
