Before the cake, the dress, the venue, or even the guests – comes the ring! Our recent webinar presented by Howard Ladd, Director of Insights at The Knot, went over all the latest details from the 2013 Engagement & Jewelry Study.
Over 14,000 brides on The Knot Wedding Network – either engaged or recently married within the past 12 months – were surveyed, along with 1,750 grooms!
A few facts from the study:
• 88% of grooms actually said the words “will you marry me”, with 86% of grooms proposing with the ring in-hand.
• Almost 2/3 (64%) of brides were involved in some way with the ring purchase
• Over 6-in-10 brides start researching the rings before the proposal!*
• When choosing the ring, the groom focuses on the quality…while the bride is all about the style.
