Creative Director Lori Richmond and Director of Trade Marketing Laura Cave joined forces on our recent webinar to walk us through the new design of TheKnot.com and the all new Storefront – plus they shared ideas to ensure your Storefront has a big impact on brides.
Photo-based sites have become the gold standard, and our new design reflects this trend. Brides want to see and browse photos for inspiration and planning ideas. We designed our new interface with this fact in mind. The open white background gives the site a fresh, clean feeling, and the gray color palette lets photos shine. Brides can browse thousands of photos through the use of the Mega Search feature in the upper left-hand side. When a bride clicks on a photo, they get more than a pretty picture – they get information on the wedding pros who shot the photo and were involved in the creation of the details.
The All New Storefront
Your online vendor profile is now your Storefront! Your new Storefront now includes a large Storefront Header Image that allows you to make a big visual impact for your brand. Lori gave the following tips on what makes a good photo.
- Sharp focus and detail
- Good lighting
- A natural setting
- A photo that suits the media platform and size
Make sure that your images represent your best work and your brand, while creating an emotional connection with brides. By highlighting what makes you unique, you will draw a bride’s attention and stand out from your competition.
The Storefront also features:
- Unlimited reviews– a great way for brides to hear how great you are – straight from other brides! Nothing gives legitimacy quite like being endorsed by a happy customer. As always – don’t forget to reach out and ask brides to review you.
- Social Networking– Your Twitter feed is displayed in the right column of the Storefront, and your Facebook page is featured on a tab near the top of the new design. If you haven’t already added your Facebook and Twitter accounts, you can connect them on the social media tab in My Account.
- Bragging Rights– Did you win Best of Weddings? The badge appears in the right column of your storefront. And don’t forget to show it off in your marketing materials! You can download badges for print or online materials on the Best of Weddings tab in My Account.
