To Partners and Friends of The Knot/XO Group:
We hope this email finds you safe and that you, your colleagues, and your friends and family are also safe at home after Hurricane Sandy. As a NYC-based company, our primary interest is the safety and security of our NY team members as well as our extended community of The Knot, WeddingChannel, The Nest, and The Bump during the difficult days ahead.
Now that Sandy has passed through the NYC area, we wanted to provide a brief update on our NY office and company operations in general.
- Our NY Office – Our headquarters are located in Lower Manhattan at 195 Broadway. On Monday evening, Con Edison took precautionary measures to shut down power in our entire building as well as most of Lower Manhattan. Our office building is located one block from the World Trade Center, which suffered from extreme flooding from the surge of the Hudson River. Our NY office is currently without power, and it will be closed until power is restored in Lower Manhattan (current estimate is 2-4 days).
- Our Websites and Apps – Our teams outside of NY have stepped up to make sure our business is running without interruption since many NY team members are currently without power. Currently all of our websites and apps are up and running under normal conditions. If you experience a problem with our sites or services, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
- Our Warehouse – The Knot Shop and our other online stores are currently operating under normal conditions, and shipments are being fulfilled as usual from our ecommerce warehouse located in Redding, California.
- Upcoming Events – All 3 NYC airports were impacted by Sandy. While JFK and Newark airports are expected to reopen with limited operations later today, travel delays are expected to continue in the NYC metro area. As a result, it is possible that upcoming events scheduled for the next week may be affected. More information will shared directly by your contact at The Knot/XO Group.
